Civil Society Strengthening in Toplica
Toplica County with its 4 constituencies (Prokuplje, Kursumlija, Zitoradja and Blace) is one of the poorest parts of Serbia. Apart from that, its civil sector is also undeveloped.
According to the mission statement of CDS, the objective of the project was to build the civil society capacity in Toplica County, thus contributing to the long-term goal of the project - increasing civic participation and democratic development of this region of Serbia.
The project objective was achieved by:
- Establishing the NGO advisory center in Toplica County which will provide consultative services for all citizens in Toplica County (especially activists of existing NGOs, people willing to establish new NGOs and other interested parties). This will include advice and assistance in registering new NGOs, work of NGOs, NGO financial administration, project proposal writing, fundraising, NGO management, communication and PR for NGOs.
- Organisation of 8 training seminars for a group of 32 people, NGO activists and leaders of informal civic groups (Role of NGOs in society, Mission, Vision, Strategic Planning for NGOs, Project proposals writing, Budgeting, Evaluation, Reporting, Fundraising, NGO management, Team Work as Necessary Tool for the Work of NGOs and PR for NGOs).
The project was jointly realized by Toplica Center for Democracy and Human Rights and CDS.
